Press Release

Date:                           April 10, 2023

News Item(s):              Sunnyside’s 35th Cinco de Mayo Festival – May 5-7, 2023

The City of Sunnyside is excited to host the 35th Cinco de Mayo Festival May 5-7, 2023. With more than 100 vendors, dancing horses, live entertainment, traditional music and the most incredible food you’ve ever tasted, you don’t want to miss the biggest cultural celebration the Yakima Valley has to offer!

We have established a partnership with La Familia to coordinate unique and exciting music and entertainment. We also have our annual parade, Charro Competition, a car show with Impalas Car Club, and Rainier Amusements bringing fun games, rides, and activities. All vendors that participated in last year’s event have been invited to return at no cost.

The Sunnyside Police Officers and other agencies will be onsite providing additional support and security to attendees. Drones will be used to monitor the event from above allowing our officers to have a better view of the entire area and identify any potential threats and respond quickly if needed.

This festival continues to inspire us to come together as a community and cherish the unique heritage that binds us. We appreciate the commitment and collaboration of those we have worked with in the past and are excited to build new relationships in the future. Let us continue to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Sunnyside and share the joy it brings to our community.
