City Manager Alba selects new Police Chief

SUNNYSIDE, WA, January 3, 2023 — It is my great pleasure to announce I have permanently appointed Rob Layman to the position as Police Chief. These last few months Rob has shown his ability to lead the department in a positive direction. His prior knowledge of the department has been a great asset to me in my leadership role. His desire to make the required decisions that are not only in the best interests of his department but also the best interests of the citizens of Sunnyside was a leading factor in my decision.

I know he will make the Sunnyside Police Department a great place to work.
