Yard Sale Permits

The City of Sunnyside will resume accepting yard sale permit applications on May 3rd. Permit applicants will be urged to follow all applicable public health guidance.

This decision is based on the new Federal Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidance regarding outdoor activities, physical distancing, and masking for vaccinated individuals, as well as a survey of practices in other area cities.

Under the State’s Phase 3 re-opening requirements, outdoor gatherings like yard sales are limited to fifty (50) persons outside your household.

If the State moves Yakima County back to Phase 2, yard sales should observe the fifteen (15) person limit on outdoor gatherings with persons outside your household.

Outdoors, per the CDC, vaccinated residents need not wear a facemask unless they are in extended close contact with persons outside their household.

Please help reduce further spread of COVID-19 by keeping at least 6 feet apart, washing your hands frequently, and sanitizing surfaces and objects after they’ve been handled.
