MAYOR Francisco Guerrero

Biography 

Francisco Guerrero was appointed to the Sunnyside City Council on March 25, 2013 to fill an unexpired term and was elected to the City Council in November 2013. His current term (Position 4) expires on December 31, 2021. He was elected by the City Council to serve as Mayor for 2020-2021. Prior to his appointment to the City Council, he served as Vice-Chair on the Sunnyside Planning Commission.

Mayor Guerrero has lived in the Sunnyside area for close to 30 years. Mayor Guerrero earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and is currently the Financial Center Manager for HAPO Community Credit Union. His wife Maria Elena Guerrero, a Sunnyside native, owns Innovation Resource Center, a substance abuse treatment facility in Sunnyside. They have two children, one which attends the Sunnyside School District and the other soon to start.

"I believe we have a moral fiduciary responsibility to the taxpayers of our city and intend to provide direction in the proper use of these funds in a way that will bring value to the whole community."
